Rome, Italy

After a great week with Kristen and Clayton, we headed for a place to stay in between Florence and Rome. Almost all day long we road the train, with not an exact idea of where we were going to stay. We knew where some camping sites were, but everytime we got off the train there was no information centers. So that made things a little bit harder; however, a very nice guy gave us a ride to a camping site in Castiglion del Lago. It ended up working out great because our site was right next to the water, with beautiful views and a big castle close by. In the morning we decided that we were going to go to the Colloseum in Rome. After a two hour train ride we were ready to see it and when we got off the metro train, there it was right at the doors. It was amazing and huge! We walked around the entire top and bottom of the Colloseum and then decided to go right next to it, to the Roman Forum. I was surprised at how big the whole area was, and we didn't even see it all. We didn't get to far into it when it started to rain, which was not bad at first. However, the farther in we got and the more we kept going, the more it kept raining. By the time we left the Roman Forum, the rocky ground was slippery, and it was forming little rivers down hill. The town seemed like it was alomst having a little flood, because crossing the street in that amount of water was difficult. Then we decided it was time to go back to our camping area, hoping that it didn't rain too hard there. Once we got there we decided to go up to the castle to get a closer look and to see inside it. There was lots of restaurants, and shops in it, so we stopped to have dinner in the castle.
