Levanto, Italy
The next morning Rj and I woke up at 5:00 am because there are these bells that go off every 15 mins. All day long it seems!! We are not quiet sure if they ever stop, but at night and early in the morning they go off all the time. I didn't understand the whole purpose, but I didn't like it. Besides the annoying bells, Rj and I decided that we would go watch the sunrise. However, the gate to the campsite was closed and didn't open until 7:00 am. So we decided to try to find another way out, which only took about 20 mins. Finally we got to the beach and the sun started to rise. Unfortunately, there was a layer of big clouds blocking the sunrise, so we really couldn't see it. While the sun was rising we walked along the beach and sat on the lawn chairs until 7:00 am, so we could get back into the campsite. Then all of us slowly got up and decided to take the train to Monterosso and make our way to Riomaggiore (the last town). We walked the whole ways, which is about 6 miles total. The walk was gorgeous and very scenic. We walked along the water and up and down into the hills to get to each town. There was a lot of people on the trail, so at times it took a while to go anywhere. At each town everyone got some ice cream and it was decided that the Kiwi Banana was the best tasting one! Each town was a little different than the next. At the start Monterosso was down near the water, and Vernazza (the second one) was on a hill, but kind of in a circle, cove like figure. Next was Corniglia, which was on a hill and you could see the other two towns from there. Manarola was third, which was also on a hill, almost on a cliff edge. After Manarola was Riomaggiore, which was about a 20 min. walk. Part of the walk is called the walk of love or the via del more. I didn't think there was anything special about it, besides the fact that it had a good view. However, the whole 6 mile walk had great views. Everything was amazing and I would love to go back again and stay longer! After we walked around Rioaggiore a little, we took the train back to Levanto where we were camping. That night we made cheeseburgers and hung out talking. All of us were a little tired from getting up early and walking all day long.

Hey RJ what's up with the Coke-a-nuts in the sand in Clayton's pictures? Glad to see Kristen got her package and was wearing the muppets shirt I picked out. Sounds like you had a fun time. Is your friend Kayleab traveling back to Switzerland with you and Cheryl. Bet it was sad saying by to your sister. Hope you have better train luck back to Switzerland or where ever your travels take you.
Love Jules
